The wagon has left me

I haven't been going after mentoring lately at all. I still see the benefit of it. I need to find a way in 2009 to get back on track.

Fell off the mentoring wagon

I really like the idea of mentoring, but I fell off. I need to get excited about it again and start keeping in touch with my mentors. I am going to connect with 3 of them this week and report back.

Reflecting

OK, I didn't update my notes and post them. I am going to get on that. School has been really getting me. That plus wanting to run and spend time with the girls. I haven't been as strong as I'd like to. Needless to say I am still kicking like Bruce Lee.

This past week I talked to MT. She is one of my business mentors. She's sharp as a tack. However, what she shared with me covered a lot of different areas. She pointed out that our driving motivation has to be hearing "well done" from the LORD. We can't go after this, that or the other. We have to pursuit the audience of One.

Thinking like that is deep. I've kind of wanted to gain notoriety, make money, be more secure fiscally, have some more options. I'm certainly mindful of that now.

State of mentoring

I've been working on applying what I've picked up lately. In some areas I'm seeking a lot of improvement. I still don't know what I am going to do about my career, but I am focusing now on doing a better job in the career I have.

I am going to compile my notes and update this week.

To much success?

I was able to catch up with one of my "e-mail mentors" yesterday. She dropped so much knowledge that I think I've bitten off more than I can chew. I haven't taken the time to compile my findings. I am going to do my very best to do that in the next 3-4 days. Especially before I meet up and talk to any more mentors. What a wonderful problem to have.

Another meeting today

I was able to meet with TK today. He is in radio and he shared with me some great insights on how I might position myself to be a radio host if that's what I wanted to do. We also talked about finding a passion and riding that on into the future.

The question: update

I got back some good responses to my question. I am going to arrange them into a post-worthy format this evening.
